Ms. Duce

Teaching is not just what I do, it’s who I am! I have always been a teacher, whether in a formal setting or otherwise. I especially love teaching ORCHESTRA. I think orchestra students are the best students on campus and orchestra is definitely the best class to teach! I look forward to working with new students each year and helping them to improve their musical skills, become better musicians, and become better people through the skills they learn in orchestra class.

This will be my 20th year teaching at Greenfield Junior High. I grew up playing viola in the Mesa School District and later began playing violin and fiddle. I have Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Teaching degrees from ASU and NAU, respectively. In addition to teaching orchestra, I also co-direct the local high school fiddle group, The Gilbert Town Fiddlers (www.GilbertTownFiddlers.com) and enjoy the opportunity to teach East Valley strings students from ages 11 through 18. I have performed with multiple local string quartets on both violin and viola, most recently joining The Sunflower String Quartet. In addition, I have performed as a fiddler with various local country bands.
